3rd International Network of Engaged Buddhists Workshop to Reduce Demand for Wildlife

This workshop is the third and last in a series of workshops that are part of USAID Wildlife Asia’s social mobilization efforts to strengthen the reach of the successful two-phased Spiritual Beliefs campaign (A Good Life is Free of Killing and No Ivory No Tiger Amulets) that the project, in partnership with the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation (DNP) and WildAid, launched in Thailand in 2020 to decrease the demand for ivory and tiger products driven by spiritual beliefs in their power to bring good luck and prevent harm. Two earlier workshops – on October 21, 2020 in Wat Chak Daeng and March 13, 2021 in Phitsanulok province in northern Thailand – engaged 38 temples that are now taking action to help reduce wildlife consumer demand in their communities.
